last Post

Hello, this week is super busy. Especially with getting my passport
all figured out. All is good now though; the temporary passport came
in. I couldn't email last week because we were too busy in London at
the Canadian embassy. I'm not sure if I even had a chance to tell you
about Kate's baptism. It went really well. She's doing really well. We
lost contact with Ronny but now we know why; he's got a girlfriend now
so he's too busy to see us. Elder Westra is leaving the area as well
and we are not being replaced so the sisters in Hastings will be
taking over all our investigators. They will be super busy. I'm at the
temple right now getting my luggage ready for tomorrow. We have a busy
day today. I'll send you a picture of our schedule so I don't have to
type it. I don't have much time to email now. I can't wait to see you
all again. It's sad to leave and say good buy to everyone here. I'll
miss this place. I had a good mission and I'm grateful for the time I
spent here and for the people I've met and the learning experiences.
But I also look forward to coming home. See you soon!

BBQ on the beach

I'm sorry I didn't get this letter sent to you on Monday, we didn't have time for emailing. We didn't even have time to do shopping. We've been very busy lately. Kate's baptism is coming up and she's ready for it. We're excited for her. We haven't seen or heard from Ronny this week. He kind of disappeared. Regarding my flight, I didn't request Lethbridge but I called the office and canceled that flight so you can pick me up in Calgary at 1:30 on the 22nd. We had our BBQ on the beach with the district, it turned out quite nice. I've put together a short letter for the ward so I'll send that in a separate email. Talk to you all next week
Elder Fisher

Hello everyone in the Claresholm ward. I'm just finishing up my mission and for some reason it's the most busy transfer I've had in a long time. We have a baptism coming up next week that we're getting ready for. So far everything is coming along very well. We're meeting with a lot of interesting people. I am currently serving in Bexhill which is right on the coast of the English Channel. I've really enjoyed my mission and have really learned a lot. I have definitely learned how the Atonement works for us all and what it truly means. I look forward to seeing you all again. "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;" -D&C 18: 10, and “After all that has been said, the greatest and most important duty is to preach the Gospel” -Joseph Smith. See you all soon!

Met him at the Tip

Hello everyone. Hope you're enjoying the heat. This transfer has been
very busy so far. We had zone training this last week and we've got
zone conference coming up this week with our new mission president.
His name is President Gubler. President Millar is leaving tomorrow. He
was a very good mission president. We picked up a new investigator
last week. We met him at the tip where he works (the dump). His name
is Ronny. He was taught by missionaries before and he recognized us
when we were helping a member take some rubbish there where he works.
We've met him in his house a couple of times and he's a really nice
guy. He has a really nice flat with lots of cool stuff and you
wouldn't guess that most of his stuff including his furniture and his
TV and cooker all came from the tip (the dump) where he works. He
wants to be baptized but the only thing that is stopping him is that
he can't get time off work Sundays. He's said that he has tried
but his boss just won't let him. Kate is still doing good. So far
there are no concerns and she's happier than ever. We're worried a lot
of people will be away for her baptism. Hopefully there will be a good
turn-up there to support her. She's doing good though. We just need to
finish teaching her everything and she'll be ready. So dad I'd like to
know how you got your swords home from your mission. Did you post
them? I'll speak to you next week and try to get a letter put together
for the ward.

Deep Fry Stuff

Hey everyone.

It's been another good and busy week. We've been mostly busy visiting less actives. One of them came to church this week which was nice. The reason why she doesn't come is because she's deaf and she needs someone to sign for her.

We also spend half our time walking, and there are lots of up hill roads and paths here. It's exhausting in the hot weather. Today has been rainy so we decided to stay in and deep
fry stuff. It was good but now we're feeling a bit disgusting. I'll
show you some pictures of what we made.

We didn't see Jacob this week; he's been busy and hasn't been answering our calls. He's in the middle of moving right now, but he's not moving back to Sweden yet. Not until
August. We started teaching a lady named Kate and she has a baptismal date for the eleventh of July. She was taught before and has been to church but she stopped coming and stopped investigating because of some concerns. But when we called her she was exited to meet with us and explained how she's overcome her concerns and wants to feel closer
to God. She came to church this week as well.

Bexhill and Hastings is pretty nice. Bexhill is apparently the birthplace of British motor racing. Maybe you could look up some interesting things about Bexhill/ Hastings and let me know. I'm sending a video we took earlier today, a picture from our flat, and a picture of me and my companion and Elder Holland. I'm on the left and my companion is shaking his hand.

Also,Dad, how did you get your katana swords home from your mission? Is there anything you'd like me to look for to bring you home? Happy Father's Day and I'll talk to you next week.

Bexhill

Hey folks!

The weather here has been really nice apart from this morning, but
it's supposed to warm up in the afternoon and the sun is supposed to
show.

Hastings is really nice. I'm living in the Bexhill area right on
the coast of the English Channel. We sometimes go jogging on the beach
for morning exercise. I think we were planning on having a BBQ on the
beach eventually with the district on a p-day where the weather is
nice. Don't worry I'm not treating this as a holiday; in fact we've
been really busy. We've been doing a lot of service this week. But the
area is lovely. I'll send some pictures next week as none of them are
on my iPad. The ward is pretty small but everyone is really nice. We
have an investigator named Jacob who's really cool. He's been taught
everything but he just isn't very confident about his testimony and
doesn't feel ready for baptism. Elder Westra is a really nice guy.
He's 26 years old and he's been out for just over a year. He's from
Holland. His English is very good. We get along really well.

The 22nd is the date that I get on the plain. I haven't received
the letter with my travel plans yet but I'll give you the information
as soon as I have it.

Elder Westra and I have had some really good teaches together.
Especially the one with Jacob. He just needs to recognize the spirit.
We often make plans for a lesson and then completely change what we
teach because we both have a strong feeling that they need something
else. It's always important to follow the spirit to teach to their
needs.

The Elder Holland conference was really good. He talked a lot about
how his mission really meant a lot to him. He also reminded us how
important it is to teach with power and authority and that obedience
helps us to have the spirit as a companion as we teach. We all got to
shake his hand as well.

I hope you all have a lovely week and enjoy the weather. Talk to you
next week! I'll take a picture out of the café right now to send you.

Hastings

This transfer was a five week transfer. It went by fast. I found out that I'll be moving today to Hastings for my last transfer. I will miss this area. I had a good relationship with a lot of people here and will miss them but I'm exited to work in my new area. I hope I can make an impact in that area with the short time I have to be there. My new companion will be Elder Westra. I've met Elder Westra before and he seams like a cool guy. I've heard good things about him. I'm sure we'll work good together.

Khai Thu is moving back to Canada now. We'll try to get his new address and refer him to the missionaries in Montreal. Susan is still doing amazing. She came to a broadcast we had yesterday at the steak center from Scotland where Elder Holland gave a really good talk about the Book of Mormon. She really enjoyed it. I'm exited to see him on Friday at Hyde Park.

We went to Farnborough on Saturday with the whole district and drew the plan of salvation on the ground with chalk at the town center. It was fun and we came across someone we recognized.

Hope you all have another lovely week and I'll talk to you next week.

Mom get better

So we've been doing a lot more contacting but we want to try to have more effective contacting. There aren't very many people on the streets here and people don't seem to be home too often when we knock. We want to contact in the town center more where there are a lot more people to talk to. We'll also continue to stop by a number of former investigators and less actives. We also need to work on our approaches. There are a number of things we want to work on and I hope we'll be able to improve.

The cultural activity went well. We had a few people cancel on us but we had a pretty good turn up. It was fun. I'll talk to you next week. Hope Mom gets better.
